OVERCOMING YOUR FEAR OF FLYING

Be it for business trips, vacations, or visiting family and friends who live far away – flying is becoming an increasingly important part of life these days. For most people, it’s a delight – but for some it can be like torture.

Approximately one-third of people feel uncomfortable on board an airplane, and around 15 percent suffer from a genuine fear of flying. People who are afraid to fly board an airplane under extreme stress, feel helpless during the flight, and suffer from cold sweats, racing pulse, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, and debilitating claustrophobia. All of that can even lead them to avoiding flying entirely. But our Fear-of-Flying Seminar demonstrates that a fear of flying can be treated.

As someone who is afraid to fly, our seminar will provide you with the tools to successfully combat your fear. The course is instructed by a psychologist, a member of a cabin crew, and a pilot. Because our experience shows that people who are afraid to fly often know too little about the technology behind flight and about flight safety. In our Fear-of-Flying Seminar, you will therefore become familiar with the world of flight. A pilot answers all of your questions about technology, while a psychologist conveys information about fear as well as tools you can use to combat it such as relaxation techniques.

For us as Lufthansa Group, it is a very special concern to discover the joy of flying together with you. To achieve this, we draw upon the expertise of our crews and provide fear-relieving experiences on a joint flight.
